Maze Runner: The Death Cure does give some closure to this trilogy and provides great action, but the story can be cheesy and something you have seen before!!!

Rating: 3.5 Stars

What I Like:

-What really impressed me was the action which this film had a lot more of than the first two movies, that makes it more fun to watch and enjoy
-The acting was a lot better than the first films which shows growth from a lot of these actors
-I enjoyed seeing the futuristic city, Last City, which is a setting that gives a breathe of fresh air

The So So:

-What I liked is that the story really gave it some good closure to this trilogy, and I’m glad they didn’t follow suit with other films from teen books and turn the last book into two parts, with all that said, I thought the story was something we have seen before, like The Hunger Games and other teen type of movies, it really didn’t bring nothing new to the table, with all that said, it wasn’t boring, but the twists weren’t as powerful as it should be

What I Didn’t Like:

-The film can have it’s cheesy moments, like the love angle with Thomas and Teresa, that had me eye rolling a lot
-It also had its share of cliches like a major death to a main character (won’t say more than that), and how every resistant comes together to fight one epic battle, and the ending is cliched as well (you will see what I mean), which brings back the argument that it is something we have seen before

Overall:

Seeing this as a trilogy, I thought the first film was very interesting take on the story and the best one in the series and the second film was just a filler movie which can get boring. With this film it was good enough with the action and the fact that this is the movie that will end this trilogy. Overall I thought the trilogy is good and entertaining, especially for the teens, but not great for it to be memorable. It looks like this will be the last films that are from teen books for now which does give me a sigh of relief!!!
