(Sidenote: The Nun- The Conjuring franchise has been known for their good horror and creepiness. However with this film it lacked a lot of that. I mean one of the creepiest characters this franchise created, and yet, they failed to make it that way with solo movie on this character. To me that is disappointing, and that is coming from a person who hates horror films. I even believe the people who love horror films will not like this!!!

(Sidenote: A Simple Favor- This film starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively really had a huge identity crisis. It was debating between a mystery crime thriller and a campy comedy. With all that said, they failed at both. The acting was strong, but the campiness really threw me off a lot. The twists just made it worse of a story then it should be!!!

(Sidenote: Mid90s- This film written and directed by Jonah Hill is pretty good. His direction has a lot of potential. As for the film, it is a coming of age spiel, acting is subpar, and no real focal point. With that said, I did enjoy the soundtrack, the 90s nostalgia, and that skateboarding group culture which shows how things were back then. Looking forward to see what Jonah Hill has in store for the future!!!

(Sidenote: The Ballad of Buster Scruggs- This Netflix film directed by the Coen Brothers is interesting watch. It deals with six different stories of the life in the Wild West. First thing first is that I really enjoyed the cinematography showing the beautiful and colorful landscapes in the American frontier. Some stories I enjoyed, some really dragged out. Since I enjoyed three of those stories over the six. It gets an ok rating in my book!!!

(Sidenote: Can You Ever Forgive Me?- I always knew that if you put Melissa McCarthy in a dramatic role, it will excel. For this film, I was right because she was spot on playing writer Lee Israel. I also enjoyed the chemistry with Richard E. Grant as her friend. I just wish the movie was a lot more interesting. I believe it would’ve been better as a thriller than a drama. However, McCarthy is deserving of that Oscar nomination for sure!!!
